This is where I'm getting confused what speeds/benchmarks should I be looking at then I have seen something about random read/write speeds being important but I just can't get my head around it!!! So my questions are all of these drive will max out the speed of the sata1 but from what I have read its not just these speeds that are important for ssd's being used as boot disks. I have ordered 2 of these to install normal HDD's in the dvd bay I will be using this drive for the OS (snow leopard 10.6, possibly going up to lion with some hacks) and applications primarily Adobe suite 5/6 depending on what will run well & Tracktor 2. (the sandisk is actually about £10 more expensive with delivery) I know that the sata 1 connection can only achieve a max of 1.5 even if i buy a sata 3 SSD. I don't fully understand all the benchmarks. I also have a 2006 macbook pro 15" on the same chip set which will also be getting the same treatment)

The MacBook Pro 17” was discontinued in June 2012.įor help identifying your MacBook Pro, visit this page here.Hi I have been reading through these forums and others trying to work out what SSD would be the best value for my early (1st gen) 2006 macbook. Apple included a non-removable lithium polymer battery which is claimed to hold power for eight hours. An anti-glare matte screen is also available for this laptop. The trackpad, which is one giant clickable surface, increased in size from the previous iteration. This iteration is designed with a unibody enclosure, an updated keyboard, Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, and a Thunderbolt port. The 2nd generation MacBook Pro 17” was released in January 2009. In February 2008, Apple issued another refresh to include an option for an LED-backlit display. The MacBook Pro 17” received a refresh in October 2006, which included Intel Core 2 Duo processors and a memory capacity of 2 GB. The device is equipped with ExpressCard/34 slots, three USB 2.0 ports, and a FireWire 400 port. The 1st generation of MacBooks included IntelCore processors, an iSight webcam, and Apple’s MagSafe charger.

With the largest display available from any Apple laptop, the MacBook Pro 17" was first released in April 2006. The MacBook Pro 17” is a portable laptop computer created by Apple.
